The Via Future Car HPV
The design and construction of the VIA represents 2.5 years of work. The project was done in association with the Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Engineering departments at the University of Kansas.

In 1990, I began investigating the possibilities of developing alternative fuel vehicles that would be both economical, ecological and safe. The design received a 3rd place award in the ASC National Design '90 Competition.

This 3-wheel HPV was my senior thesis at the University of Michigan. I wished to explore human-powered transport that used rear-wheel steering as a practical alternative to the automobile.
